yes, I made a minor mistake in my posts, speaking of wind so I guess I'll continue as such. of course, with your acceptance i can remedy that for the future.
I had confused his abilities and focus with another character's of mine. so could i possibly follow my original plans of an earth based fighter?

excellent, with that said. my abilities are nothing fantastic, with the return to the earthen defender. my skills are exactly that. If you need I can throw together a list or something that covers my skill. as a warrior monk style I am not a mystic so my powers are limited.

Now, I am certain that we do not have a large enough supply of water, so we might as well resort to the second technique. Earth does not burn, and as earth represents defense I think we have what we're looking for.
Whatever is approaching will wash against my spears, broken by my resolve, and, with a little help from the kami..."
With that I grasp my mask and strap it onto my face, the familiar scent of the wood welcoming me, like the embrace of a long lost lover, the voices of the ancients reverberate through my ears.
"We should be able to turn the tide."
I then notice the slightly shocked look of my team
"What? is it so strange that the samurai are devoted not only to the sword, but the arts as well? whatever, I know which will serve me best, I leave it to you to organize the information, I will await the attack, but my patience wears thin..."

Looking to the crippled mage, and the sandwarrior in quick succession I make the decision.
" I concur, it isn't dishonorable to retreat from a battle that doesn't fall in our favour. we should leave his arena to find ground of our own."
With that I stooped down and picked up the injured mage with great ease, turned to the sandwarrior and said.
" Lead on, you must have an idea, we are mobile enough to not need his glass until we reach the top, but you-" I turn to the other monk, It would be best if you do what you can to seal the wounds, his enemy is time, not the bird.

the feeling of heavy runic magic, then a strange breeze, like that of a fast moving object was all the notice I had, the beginning of the counterattack.
with the barriermage's words I was already rushing towards the bird, my naginata cast aside, and my mighty no-dachi raised for a killing blow.
the creature had moved surprisingly close, and the deathblow the mage had dealt it was more than enough for me to get close enough to do what I did best.
with the voices ancestor's voices raising to a climax in my ears, I reach the beast's prostrate neck once again.
{Banzai charge: subtract from defense and add to attack and damage = 20}
OBENKYO!
with my mighty warcry I leap up, with all my strength and cleave downwards straight for the creature's neck, a purely fatal blow with its connection. truly the heads would roll.

Such crude humor, this gentleman would be fun..
My warrior spirit forbade that I fall to my knees, even so much as a grimace to show the true pain I felt. Simply smiling I weathered the pain as a willow would a storm.

Another night in the stocks, it wasn't the first time, but it still made me uneasy. at least this time i was complete. for the first time in what seemed like ages I held my weapons, seeming to glow, even in this oppresive darkness.
I had spent the night practicing forms, reminders of the battles before, and those to come. the most restful night I have had Since the banishing.
And as I stood in the main hall once more I saw all that was the past, and the future streaming into this one point. though I was paired with men that were not warriors in the slightest sense they carried themselves with the wieght of all the lives they had taken, putting them here.
Even the strange talking miscreant, who found testicular jokes humourous bore an air of competence about him. A good night's rest had cleared the blood from my vision.
It seems that this was to be a test of patience, my mask would remain, the cries silent.
Now if they had only taken better care of masaru than they did of me.

With the bird prone for an attack, all its focus on the sikh I take matters into my own hands. in short time I had refastened the mask and was rushing the bird, spear at the ready.

as predicted, everyone of my squadmates went thier own ways; each using thier own tactics. This did not bother me, we all have our places in the battles afterall, it was the feeling of uselessness, i was not equipped to battle such a creature without my horse. pulling off my mask I turn back to my companions that remained.
"Barriermage! watch where it turns and put up walls to contain it! it is too large to fly freely! can you do that? we need to deter it until we are ready!"

leaving the unasked question I nod to him and take a drink. The strange flavours and aromas of this world's heathen brews was never lost on me.
" But i digress, we seem to be allies in this game, it seems best that we get to know each other, so that the battles ahead go smoothly, I am nomi sasune."
I keep looking at my tea partner, the soft murmurings of the other teams mixing with the soft clink of the cup against my unfasened mask.

Noting that the last member of my promised teamates had arrived I downed the last of my strange tea, nodded to alexis and set about gathering the other two warriors to me.
Walking first to the obviously armed gentleman I say " we should gather and devise some, strategy. It wouldn't be wise to start anything without knowing what we an do, if you wouldn't mind joining us?"
I gesture to the teaset and without waiting for a response i give a halfbow and move towards the monk and gve him the same choice.

(( for the record I didn't throw the spear, it was a thrust. the naginata was not designed for throwing))
With the strange monk's escape from the firy depths I was in a bit of a jam, there was nothing between the firebird and myself, it's focus had shifted to me, this would not end well.
I halt my charge and assume a mobile defensive stance.

with the apperant death of the bird a beautiful crystal appeared. shining with importance.
Ignoring the rumbling I sauntered nonchalantly towards the crystal and picked it up. a strange feeling rose through me, like the air in an opiate den. I was revitalized.
as was my team so it seemed. Then it struck me. this rumbling could mean no good.
Here! Catch! I yelled as I hurled the crystal to my team, as I ran back towards them, stopping to grab my naginata.
why are we still here? we completed the mission did we not? regardless, we shouldn't stand around here. this doesn't bode well.
with that I put my no-dachi back in its sheath on my back and returned to my claimed place of vanguard, facing back up the mountain just in time to see the cause of the shaking, a large plume of ash and soot erupting from the one as magma curled slowly over it's sides.
'Great.'
