Create a signature (or more than one if you wish) to show off what defines you.
Thinking off the top of my head...
1) You can use whatever program you want, the work has to be your own. This means no contracting anyone to do it for gaming currency (gold) or anything like that.
2) The dimensions of the sig cannot exceed a height of 100px and width of 600px.
3) After you post it, give a general description of what you did and how you did it (include the programs you used).
4) You may use sprite and images of characters, but keep most of your image original. It should be a demonstration of your talent in using that particular program, not of your copy/paste abilities.

Try not to shoot down other people's work. Constructive criticism works.

Generally try have fun with it. Challenge yourself and learn new things.

Submissions must be in by 11:59pm on April 22.

Judging will occur by a voting method in which anyone in the forum can participate. Voters will PM me theirs votes by 11:59pm on April 25, I will tally them up and give a result. Also, voters will not be permitted to vote for themselves, this way, someone might actually win the competition.

Anyone that has joined the forums after April 11 will be excluded from voting but input in the forums will be accepted.

Edit: Post your entries here: Where the BBCode is

I'll do it.

But I recommend a poll instead of PMed votes. ;)

I was thinking of a poll, but I wanted to be sure that no one would spoil the vote by making another account or anything like that. That is why I said no one who made an account after the 11th can vote, this makes doubly sure that it wont be spoiled.

You may use some unoriginal material. Things like characters or sprites will work, but but copying and pasting backgrounds will not. Patterns that are already inside the program you are using will be accepted.

Also, explain where you got your sources for some of your work. I want you to make your sigs original.

Remember, the aim of this is not only to win, but to learn.

I used photoshop for all these.

This one is composed of 9 layers.. uh I used difference of clouds for the cammo looking effect. I also used some simple blur and color tones. And yes, the blue around the snowboarder is on purpose(makes the motion blur look cooler).

This one was just some simple stuff I did in about 5 minutes, but I like how it turned out. I don't know where the psd is anymore so I can't tell you what I did.. besides the paint daubs filter.

Posted Image

I know this one doesn't qualify for the competition. Just something from my old halo clan site.

Posted Image

Please tell me what you think(like and dislike). That's all for now. Maybe I'll make another one tonight.

I like them.

Just a reminder for everyone to not in note that in the guidelines, there is a restriction on the size of the image. (I know you know, Pokey, just pointing it out for everyone)

I can't be lenient because if I am, I'd have to accept anyone else that went against the guidelines that were in the first post.

Yep. The snowboard one is 600x100 the others were just some of my older work (not part of the comp). If you see anything that's sucky tell me so i can change it before the deadline. ;)

Well here's one from me:

http://djcoretechs.drackir.com/Pictures/Ichigo.gif

I used The GIMP. I used an alsortment of brushes for the background, duplicated it, then used a gaussian blur and faded it onto the layer underneath. I then cut out the character "Ichigo" from the anime, "Bleach", and posted it as a new layer. Same with the lettering.
