I know a few of you are Canadian... has anyone watched any of the Commonwealth Games? They are... uh... a little, weird

For a start there are only about 7 countries that win anything, Australia, England, Canada, New Zealand, India and Scotland.

Secondly Places like Nuie have a team in it and the Isle of Mann won a gold medal, which is this weird little island which is technically its own country in the sea between Britian and Ireland and only about 10,000 people and a few sheep live there.

They are very weird to watch becuase the same 7 countries are in the final of everything. Does anyone take them seriously?

Its quite good though cos England win a load of medals, which considering the competition isn't all that amazing, but still its nice, and everyone seems to be smiling and happy in them, unlike the Olympics where its abvious all the countries hate each other

i live in melbourne so i see alot of the games. there is about 20+ countries in the games but most are just places ppl have never heard of. but last night isle of mann won a gold medal and the england team was celebrating so i guess they are joined in 1 team. i think the commonwealth games are just so Australia can kik the rest of the commonweath countries asses cause accourding to the medal chart australia has like 29 golds and england is coming second with 13 golds.india is comin third with 8 golds. i dunno if u watched the opening ceremony but half of it was crap

Actually i got into them, mainly because as i said they're sooo weird and happy and nice.

Canada did well for any one who cares.

Yeah in the Olympics, Scotland, Wales, England, Gurnsey, etc and the Ilse of Mann enter as 'Great Britain' but in the commonwealth games they're seperate So obviously the English guys were happy the IoM won, plus won of them got disqualified for pushing into the Aussie guy and helping him to win ... heheh.

I think thats called 'Worlds strongest man / women' its always on over xmas in the UK, an annual MUST watch Eastern europeans usually win it.

Might be the highland games they throw trees and pull trucks i in that i think. lol
