The classic del they have up is the worst version of del and over all the worst online game i have ever played...they should put up version 3.0 or when ever...the unoficial version was way better

Most players would disagree with you. Most liked 2.2/2.3 way better than p3(myself included). Deloria 2.2 was one of the funnest games I have ever played and way better than any fake Deloria. Word about Deloria Classic being up hasn't spread much and it already gets like 15 people on. When I went on fake Deloria they rarely had that. The new version will be up eventually, but until then people can play this.

Meh! I don't care much for Deloria. And I stick by what I've always said, the game wasn't good or great or anything, it was just a button mashing leveler. The good thing about it was talking with people and hanging out. I have a lot of people I met on Del that I still talk to today...hell half my forum members are (ex-)Delorians.

Excellent. That's what I want in a game: community.
But you've heard all that before.
Any chance we could focus on that, maybe see if we couldn't maximize or develop some way of increasing the feeling of community?
I dunno if that's what guilds will do, but I guess once there are enough people the guilds will just form smaller communities.
Hm. I guess it wouldn't be fair to suggest filesharing. Heck, that would be a nightmare. What about just streaming music, then? A special item in the game that allows you to share your mp3s with those nearby?

Maybe you could tune into just the one you want.

Hey hey, voip is basically streaming audio, why not implement that? But then we get into creeps and psychos who threaten (or something) little impressionable boys. We need to take care of our Rick, you know?

You need to be a certain level before you can chat, implying a certain level of comittment, responsibility, not just using the game as a perverted outlet? Or a block option, or have it so that you need to actually click "accept speech from X" in order to listen...

I've been messing with Skype (as Dracky knows), and it's pretty fun, even if (when) nobody has anything to actually say.

Hm. Might get a bit crowded. Some way to cut down on that? Hm.
1)Chat is only open to guildmembers.
2)Chat is only open to a certain diameter.
3)Chat is only open to a certain number of people (eg. max 5).
Ehh... I like the idea of private chat, but I also like the idea of public chat.

How about... A different system indoors as outdoors. Outdoors you need to accept and be accepted to chat to prevent crazy weight on servers, as the line would only be sent to the one or two people targetted. Indoors, though, would be public, like an open forum.

Eh. Some ideas. I think I overly developed the voip function.

:edit: I also realized what thread this is in. Whoops. Want I should edit-move it, boss?

Yeah, I've considered this and if I added it it would be in a P2P format, I wouldn't waste time lagging down the server sending voice chats all over. It would be client to client. But that is something (maybe) for the future. Right now I just want to get the game ready and released, that's more important.

Depends how busy it gets. Deloria rarely got so busy broadcast chat was untenable. I suppose if you have upwards of 30 though it may get a bit crowded, in which case you can ignore broadcast i assume.

hell half my forum members are (ex-)Delorians.

Only half?! :P

Don't post here ever again.

Well, at least encourage the use of Skype for enhanced gameplay... or something.

And you left yourself completely open, dear Dracky, to all kinds of annoying comments from me about the lack of playable... anything. But I resisted! You should be proud of me.

And whatever Moogaloop is, it doesn't seem to do anything either.

You're welcome to develope your own VOIP chatting program to integrate with the game. And there is no lack of anything, just because YOU can't play doesn't mean it can't be played.

Moogaloop is the player controls for the pokemon movie, it gets loaded with pokemon.htm.
