[Moose]

after the 'games you have played' posts, ive put together a guide to anyone who wants to try out a new game. this is basicly all of our disscusion in 1. Please feel free to add to the list and comment on the game.

Knight Online-
Description: A simple free 3D mmorpg including races, classes,npc quests, government, player shops, a big world and ok graphics. The game includes a pvp and pve with large-scale wars between players.
The game has a great community on the several servers/channels of the game.

FlyFF(fly for fun) English-
Description: An excellent free to play game with more of the cartoony look than most games. the game has developed much with 5 classes and 8 seccond tier classes. the game is not called fly for fun for nothing though. Flyff(korean) was the first mmorpg where users are able to fly freely around. the game starts out where everybody is the same class . and then at a certain lvl advance to the next class. the game also includes a world of islands, quests pvp, guildvguild, a system of karma, and best of all flying wherever you need to go.

Maplestory English-
Description: Another very addictive game that is much different from most mmorpgs. the 2D layout allows stacking abitility of objects. also a great cartoony yet very simple look. there are many events and new things all the time to keep everybody entertained including prizes, cash shop, season event eg. there are currently world cup uniforms to buy. this is also free yet theres always cash shop for people willing to pay.things like pets are also buyable. the game has great music, graphics, community,gms and there are tones of quests. there is no pvp though. but beware...this game is packed full of people~edit: most of the people of MS have left due to being hacked, being hackers or along thoughs lines.The most crowded servers are no longer crowded as they were before.it is now easy to train and enjoy the game but beware of hackers god dam it~. thats why there are a few servers with 20 channels in each. the great thing in this game is that if a monster spawn is taken, you can switch channels in about 5 secconds and find an empty spot.

WoW(world of warcraft)-
Description: World of warcraft is one of the biggest and most popular mmorpgs made. yes it is pay, but it is worth it. there are free servers though. great graphics and loads of quests are mostly wat u do and see in the game. after reaching the lvl limit there is only quests that need like 40 ppl to do. i did not play it so if u want to add sum stuff here about anything, feel free.

Supreme Destiny english-
Description: Supreme destiny is one of thoughs games whos graphics are trying to look really realistic. the game is set out in a good system with equipment, characters, wars, pvp, classes to speclise in and mounts but the game can be easily boring. its just like a typical japanese mmorpg and lags. the people who play are mostly higher lvls and not evened out. the lvls seem to go pretty high due to the highest people being lvl 355. there are to servers, one older than the other. i suggest picking the newest one to have more ppl the same lvl as you. it is free to play and also if u played add stuff here.

Runescape-
Description: a great old game that nearly everyone has once played. The game has plain graphics not going into to much detail but this is good so wont make anyone lag. it is free to play, but if you wanted to explore futher and do alot more than you can in the free members section you can pay a small fee. the game has a great community but is mostly very packed. the game has a big pvp zone and about 20(estimatation) quests for free members and more for payers. also runescape has a wide veriety of things to master to lvl 60 eg. chopping trees, making fires, cooking, sword combat, fishing ect.

Thang Global Online:
Description: Also a game i play if other games dont work or im bored. good game with four severs so it doesnt get packed. theres a atribution button to change you focus between defence, strength and intelegence. sorta the same stuff in freespace 2 which is a handy little thing. the graphics is pretty good and the armors look like thosands of sqwiggly lines,but the only thing that buggs me is the camera. it only moves in left and right to a certain point and doesnt go down very well. the gameplay seems pretty good and decent size multi cutural commuity spred out mostly higher lvls.

Very sweet strategy game. A bit like Final Fantasy Tactics or Advance Wars. Or Fire Emblem. Funny, I never realized how similar those three were...

The best part: runs on all three OSes. Go Linux!!

Multiplayability is set up as such: it will randomly add you to a game of certain specifics you set (near my rank, open, etc etc). What seems to be missing, however, is the ability to connect directly to a certain user... say, a friend. "Hey, let's play Bang! Howdy! Once we join a certain random number of games, we have a chance of actually seeing each other!" Maybe I'll look into it, there's no way they could leave that out.

Anyways, a very very sweet game. It's open beta right now, but I believe it will always be free. Why? Because they are still going to get money through the game. You (will be able to) can buy gameside gold with real gold. Nifty concept, nothing I'd ever actually go for. Keeps it free for me. (Kinda like music should be... Songs are free, but you pay for merchandise. My dream reality...) Anyways. The problem is I think they've greatly reduced the amount of gold you can actually win in the game to make it more worth paying for it. I've played several games and earned something like 350g. The cheapest item I've seen is 3500.

Gold gets you things like new characters to use in battles, and allows you to totally customize your character and such. A very neat idea, but again, I would play just to play. Customize? What? I can understand most other people going for it though.

Anyways. Very sweet (free) game.

I give knight online a 7 and flyff a 5.

In my eyes, a game gets two stars automatically if it runs on Linux, two more stars if it is free. Bang! Howdy right off the bat gets four stars, but we aren't done yet.
Another star for innovative gameplay.
Again for graphics, which are original (hint hint, Fondusi's) and dynamic etc.
Again for the ease of actually playing a multiplayer game.
Again again again for being a generally cool game.
It loses one though, because they had to go and ruin the whole funness and invent something like buying gold (real money for game money). Sure, I guess it's a good idea from their point of view, but I just don't like it. Devalues the game for all of us who won't be paying for funny money.
I do, however, appreciate the fact that it is mostly un-obtrusive, and you could play the game for months without even realizing that you could pay to "get more out of the game".

Thus: 9 stars.

ok ive covered nearly all the games ive had experience playing but i cant really make guides on games i havnt played cause home websites and forums can be deciving.

i thought the forums were open to public. cause im able to access and read posts. or is it just if u want to actully post you have to be a paying member?

You know Moose, I wrote a review system for an old website once upon a time. Perhaps I could modify it and put it up so that you could write reviews and people could actually comment and rate the game themselves as well. Would you be interested in that?

Free players can look at the posts but members can post. On there they treat free players like they're just long time visitors.

All the characters in your list either got "banned or hacked". I had assumed that this meant they were your characters, which would make you the agressor, but even if they weren't, they still aid my point.


And that penguin thing is awesome. He just totally smacked the other penguin!
