Soul Seek is one of my favourite music sharing programs. Nalyid, Night and I all use it. You can browse peoples folders and download entire albums just by right clicking on them. There are a lot of users with a lot of music. It's simple and easy to use, you can also chat in the chat rooms or just p2p.

You can download it at www.slsknet.org.

I use both versions but Nal and Night use the non-beta version. It's only windows but I can't see why it wouldn't work with Wine in linux.

It is similar to those but the network is a little different I think. It doesn't *feel* like kazaa or limewire or bearshare. It's simple with no adware/spyware/malware or unnecessary gizmos. And yeah you can right click on a person and click "Browse user's files..." and it pops a tab up showing a directory structured list of all the user's files being shared.

I also want to mention that if anyone does download it, we have a chatroom on it called "Fondusis's Crew". To join it, you will have to right click on the chatroom list and click "Refresh Room List". Then (once it's done loading all the rooms [note: it might freeze up for a few seconds, just let it finish] single click on a name and then press the "F" key until you find the room called "Fondusi's Crew". Double click it to join. If you want to auto join, you can use the Chatroom menu at the top to toggle the auto-join option. Hope to see you there! ^_^

Great. I saw you in the chat too! ^_^ Did you get your computer working again? What was wrong?

Aye, turns out my hd was filled to the brim. Very odd effect, though...
Dang, you know? I think it's happened before. I don't really know what it is about this drive that attracts filth, but there's a lot (14+G) of stuff.
I have no idea what this stuff is.
Hm... 5G is Neverwinter Nights and RTCW (full data). The rest? Nothing too big. A whole bunch of small clutter. Kinda like my room. Nothing big enough to warrant removal... but nothing really worth keeping. Interesting.

*BUMP*

Moving to University in six days. I haven't bothered to mess around with ports at home as I'm just leaving soon anyways. I'll have to see when I get there, but I'm sure I'll be able to run Soulseek just fine.

Hm... Then again, the network there is solely Fedora Core. Linux, being a bit more secure than Wind*ws, was the problem in the first place for blocking ports. I'll have to talk to the Comp.Sci. professor, as he is my Student Advisor. Sweet.

Oh yes.

I've been talking to my soon-to-be-roomate. He's bringing a router. You know what this means.

It means that your internet from the univ will be redirected to both of your comps on a single line instead of two? You know you can use a hub for that right? That could cause some conflicts you know. Having a router connected to a router...hmm maybe not. Depends how you set it up I suppose. Anyways, good luck with that? P.S. Do I know your roommate?

Router's the best thing at hand. We'll tinker until it works. Like-minded, we are.

Nah, you don't know him. I met him a few times at different university events over the year.
