On topic!
So. Parents. Yeah.
Mine are driving me nuts.
Unfortunately I've dug a bit of a hole.
I can't climb out on my own and have no options.
I'd like to go and live on my own but I'm too weak. Some day.
You see I've found a place where I'm comfortable, and I'm likely to stay.
I find excuses and justify my staying, and put up with more and more that I dislike.
My weakness is in recognizing it. Or rather, my weakness is in declaring it. An imaginary crutch.
For now, at least, I rely on my parents. Anyone want to throw together and share an apartment? Help me!

sum day ill eat ur cat ricko...

Well Casey, you have solved the first part of your problem, you have seen and admitted that you have a problem. You claim you are too weak to declare it, but you have. That is not a weakness anymore. You see how you are living, you see the problems in your life and you want to get rid of them.
I have sent you an email entailing some details for something you could do. A live-in position at a camp away from home and away from parents. Being away will also give you an opportunity to think about how you are going to go about your future.

Move in with my sister. ^_^

Or my closet. Come on, it's nice and roomy. Just as long as you never come out of there when my mom's home. :ermm:

Hah, Casey, if I would actually survive in an apartment, I would so do that.

But, I would probably die of something within a month or so.

wow, Coretechs is like a psychiatrist. I now no longer need Dr. Phil, not that I did before but hey. Oh and i'm good with an apartment, except the bill paying and the lack of free-food and I don't think Keisad would approve of me staying with anothe guy...hehe

Me? I'd love to move out. My parents would love for me to move out.
The only thing holding me back is my reliance on complacency.

Dang, moving out would be so cool. I'm going to write a song about it.

Just kidding, I'm not that indie. Or is it emo?

But yeah.

Hmm... i don't want to come across like a patronising wanker but here goes...

I always got on with my mum, never really got on with my dad... i hear this from people at work and older adult acquaintances all the time, as well as people my age who lived on their own for a bit; by about 17-19, you really start wanting to move out, and more than that your parents usually want you to too. Its for the best, because maybe, and everyone is different, but you'll likely get on with them, as people, as fellow adults.

I remember when my mum left me alone for the weekend, I though "great now i can eact pizza and ice cream" of course later on you realise you need to eat carrots and brocolli and things OR YOU WILL DIE.

Then of course theirs the money aspect, being skint is quite fun as long as you have enough for beer, fags, food and rent, but after a while it can get you down, say you need to upgrade your PC. At first i did everything i could to not get money off my folks, but now I kinda proved I can do it, so when they offered to buy me a (cheap) car last year, i didn't feel bad. Because that is what happens, they want to give you things, and know that you will do the same for your kids, thats how life works.

Anyway as i got older i suppose I started to appreciate everything they did and still do. I started liking them as people in their own right.. but more than a few days at home, and bugger, i remember why i needed to leave.

Don't post here ever again.

Casey, right now I'm feeling quite tempted by getting an apartment. My mom can't stand having me around and I can't help but think that she'd rather replace me with Becca because she's just so effing perfect.

If I don't get out of here in September with Katimavik, I might move in with my sister. Heck, she'll probably kick me out too. Jac's mom didn't want me, mine doesn't want me, I'm pretty sure there's no one who can stand living with me anymore.
