So I was looking around the internet when I here about my dad seeing a space I-MAX 3d movie, he said that it'd be cool if he could make 3d pictures. So, I did some searching on my computer and found a good tutorial on how to make 2d images 3d images, both popping and in the distance. To save some time I wont paste the site link, I made my own small tut :P . Or, you can search for it on youtube. Okay so here goes:

1- Get photoshop, if you have it already open it up. (You can get a free trial of it if you search on google)

2- Open up a 2d picture you want to make 3d.

3- Go to image at the top left, Wave over mode for more options, select gray scale.

4- Then go back to Image --> Mode --> But select RBG (Red blue green)

5- Now, go to the bottom right hand corner where it gives you all the info. There are 3 tabs, Layers, Channels, and Paths.

6- Select Channels, you get 4 options under it, RBG, Red, Blue, And green.
You also see a little check box to the left of the name thing like this:

[ ] RBG

7- Make sure all the boxes are checked, if they are checked, an eye will appear next to them, it means you are now able to see all of them.

8- Now click on the box that contains the word "red" in it. This might deselect the check boxes, if it does select them all again.

9- Go back to the toolbar where at the very top right you have abox made of a dotted line. Click that.

10- Now on your picture, hold down the mouse button at the top left corner and drag it to the bottom right corner, or until the picture is inside a dotted outline box.

11- Now click the tool to the very right of it. Now, Go back inside the picture, hold down the mouse button and drag it to the right or left, this drags the red causing there being a 3d effect. If you drag it to the left it shrinks inside, to the right the picture pops out. Make sure that the red stays level vertically

12- Save the picture and get on some 3d glasses.

Congratulations, you made a 3d image. :)
...Tehe.

Once we can determine some sort of extreme directional image pushing (to send a different image to each eye), cameras will start appearing with two lenses.

So it's not taking them that's the problem, it's viewing them.

Picture a TV that scans every face in the room and sends directional pictures to each eye. Goggles on everyone is cheap and easy, but uncomfortable and annoying for mass viewing.

Hmm, so maybe some new kind of effect where it's all in the movie and no glasses. It's a good idea but maybe too long to figure out for what its worth <_< .

Well hey, theatres would save a lot of space. Just shove everyone into one theatre and each one can watch a different movie. People shouting spoilers wouldn't make sense, though.
"Look out for the dinosaur!!" during a romantic comedy. Hmm...

It wouldn't really work without being able to direct light exactly into someone's eyes from the screen and then being able to do that for every person in the theatre...yeah I doubt this will ever happen without goggles or cyber brains. ^_^

Digital cameras sense face shapes. Lasers travel in straight lines.

Damn nanotechnology... Why have you not yet arrived?

I still doubt it will ever be physically possible to have one point (let alone like a million) on a screen send out 100+ laser beams in separate directions. Also, sensing face shapes is a lot different than accurately processing eye positions and being able to adjust (without any noticeable difference) when someone moves or blinks. It is a neat idea though.
