I'm reading A Dance with Dragons, the fifth in the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R R Martin.
Book four was a slog through characters I couldn't stand. I lost my momentum and now I've got other things going on, but I'm definitely going to finish this book before starting any others.
Well, that's not true. Since starting it I began and finished all six books in the Strangers in Paradise collected volume set. Is good.

Next on my list?
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus. It's on my shelf, taunting me.
Reamde by Neal Stephenson.
Zero History by William Gibson. (Oh heck, I haven't even read Spook County. Maybe I'll reread Pattern Recognition too.)
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
Not necessarily in that order.

How about you? Read anything good lately? Planning on it?

I'm on the second A Song of Ice and Fire book. I also finished the Empire series (Empire, Hidden Empire) by Orson Scott Card while I was reading A Clash of Kings.

It's a good series, huh?
I read Empire by Orson Scott Card. Based on a videogame? It was good. Not his usual style though. Then again, what is his usual style?
My favorite Card book is (A Planet Called) Treason. That first part isn't always included in the title. I should read that again.

Yeah, Hidden Empire is quite good as well. I haven't read (or heard) of that other book but I've read the Ender series and another series he wrote called Homecoming.

Have you read the Neuromancer trilogy by William Gibson? They were quite good, though the writing is a little different from your usual novel.

Have you read any Neal Stephenson? I'd recommend Zodiac for a fun, short read and Cryptonomicon for a good, hearty read. If you like Cryptonomicon you would like his Baroque Cycle, which would take a bit more of a run at. Some day I'll give that another shot.
As for the third of the three big names in cyberpunk fiction, well, I have yet to read any Bruce Sterling. He's on my list.
