@ Tantalus: the killer could have been human, since as the son of zeus he would be half god as well.
@Drackir: In god of war you recieve the blades of athena do you not? so these weapons hypothetically would allow you to harm the immortals

And for the record, Kratos doesn't count as an example for a race that existed close on 3 centuries ago.

Ahem.
Zeus, son of Cronus son of Uranus was father of the greek/roman pantheon. He charged the titan Prometheus (foresight) to create all beasts on earth (some say just humans, others that both Prometheus and Epimetheus, his brother, (afterthought) were given the task.)
Prometheus gave all the gifts to the animals, leaving nothing for humans. He decided to steal fire from the gods (for only they had fire) to give to the humans.
Prometheus was successful, but could not escape Zeus' watchful eye.
Zeus punished Prometheus for the theft by chaining him to a rock (some say near the Aegean, others in the Caucasian mountains) and letting an eagle come down and eat his liver. every night, Prometheus' liver would grow back only to be eaten the next day.
Now is where it gets interesting.
Zeus knew of his eventual death at the hands of one of his sons from a "conference" he had held with the fades. Even they, however did not know the name of Zeus' killer, saying only Prometheus would.
Zeus promised to release Prometheus if he would give the name of the killer but Prometheus said nothing. Eventually Zeus grew weary of this and abandoned Prometheus who remained in torment until his rescue by Heracles.
What I want to know is what was in that Prophecy entitled. I have heard it before so I know it exists.
Who Done It? If you know, or have an idea please give a post, I have looked through the extensive list (and it is extensive) of all beings that Zeus sired and only one rings a bell. If you tell me I'll tell you. deal?
Please! its burning me up inside!

Or are you contempating a dilemma in another branch of mythology?
In that case, did you happen to see the title of this line?
yeah, Who Killed Zeus. ZEUS. how many mythological Pantheons have Zeus in them? Jupiter is also included in this generalization

Sure he's a Spartan Warlord or whatever but It was said that mortal weapons, in the hands of mortal people couldn't harm a god. I think.
this is true for Perseus slaying the Gorgon Medusa. Medusa was the only mortal out of her sisters, despite being thier leader and he could only kill her, even with the gifts he had recieved from Athena, Hades and Hermes.
That doesn't really matter as God of War is a GAME loosely based on ancient mythology in its most basic sense, and I am absolutely certain that Kratos didn't kill Zeus in the original Mythology.
Although it is a wicked awesome game to say the least.

I called it "Judas, The Real Disciple" pretty profound, huh?
And would we roll the characters or would the point system be in order?
(If you are unfamiliar with my "unsavoury" abilities I would recommend.)

I have been hurting to use it for sometime. It is one of my original pieces.
think about it, ninja, samurai, shugenja. everything oriental and good for the killing. plus it adds a little bit of the unknown, as it is not as popular as the normal D&D as you proved by having to ask about it.
