P.S.: Yeah, I had to fix that. It's all working now and the "First" button gets disabled when you are on the first comic too!

... although it takes much longer to type out than back then... the example above being a more extreme dialect than most though.
Its been replaced by 'txt spk' now which arises from the use of cellphone txt services so
"hey hw r u? cn i hav sum gold pls? thanxs. bai."
which in leet would be:
"h3y c4n 1 h4v3 50m3 601d p1s? pH4nX. 8y3."
Leet was mainly used as way of circumnavigating auto language filters and stuff, but thats not really true, its just eveyone reckoned they were 't3h 1337 h4x0r' back then...
