The mother board in my main computer is dead due to a short from a broken USB port.
Just curious if anyone has any decent motherboards of decent age (2005-2006ish) they would be kind enough to donate to on such as myself.
A replacement motherboard is going to be costing me about $300. Lotsa money.
Also, I am going to be paying more monies to get a new mp3 player... My precious 30g Creative Zen Vision: M was fried too (Don't say it, Kinewa). The USB sparked when I plugged it in and fried both computer and mp3 player.

It is a sad thing when one loses Zen.

I'm probably going to send it into Creative (again) and pay another $125 US to get a new one (due to it being out of warrenty). I am so forking frustrated also because I lost all my music. But I still have a nice E Nomine CD in my stereo ^_^.

I don't know what kinda motherboard you are looking at that's going to cost you $300. Don't buy any computer parts up there, you could probably get the same kind down here for like $100. What kinda motherboard do you need? Socket? AMD/Intel? Processor? RAM type you're using? What was your old mobo? I need more info to be helpful. :P

Just so everyone knows... (*Cough* Kinewa *Cough*)
My Zen came back to life and fully recovered from whatever electrical damage I thought it had suffered.

I think it's safe to say that I have returned to my state of Zen.

Drack, I'm gonna talk to the guy repairing my computer, find out what the motherboard costs, and perhaps challenge him on the cost.

I went to the Alliston Hock Shop this morning and found that there was a 4gig one for about $150. Was considering getting it... But thankfully I didn't.

*Pets Zen* So durable... Especially with it's ZenTank

I didn't get it though... Didn't feel like shelling out the money for a non-Creative product.

Hmm...talking about Zens, eh? I had a MicroPhoto. Once Coretechs Dropped it and chipped the paint. Another time it broke because it felt like it. It was a whole five months old and then another time it died because it got a little wet. I gave it to keisad.
