It's a whole lot funnier if I just don't tell you. That was the whole joke, that you'd try to imagine all the situations in which I'd find out what kind of underwear he was wearing.
So really, by asking you not to ask me, I was preventing you from spoiling the joke.

Entire situation explained, the reason I know is this: Megell woke up without pants, and decided to go the day wearing no pants. So it came to pass that Ben entered the room in which I awoke, not wearing pants. And thus I knew what kind of underwear he was wearing (though I had to ask again afterwards for the purposes of the joke).
